Reasons to use Indian almond leaves.

Adding almond leaves betta in a tank may sound confusing to many. But look at this phenomenon as you add some toys to a tank or decoration piece. But not just some ordinary piece, a piece that benefits in so many ways to your betta.

Some benefits are so unique that they let people think about why they were unaware of this leaf. It is that amazing.

There is nothing strange in doing and adding some leaves to the aquarium. The common practice for your bettas will be that they will not be house sick anymore. Because the water will be dark, it will have the same taste, feel, and smell as that wildlife water. So bettas think that you have transferred them back to their native homeland.

It also helps the betta to increase the happening of their immune system. When the immune system of bettas gets more robust and fresh, it will easily fight up against bacteria and even prevent some diseases.

Also, it will help the fish to lessen their stress.

Reasons

Below are some reasons that when hearing, you might consider yourself using these leaves for your beloved betta.

1.        Properties ( Antifungal & Antibacterial )

This trait can be the most noticeable one and also can be the most important one. These leaves contain so many different benefits, and this one is just a single.

Fish illnesses and diseases can hurt and even kill them, especially in water where bacteria and fungi infections are present. Such as fin rot. Fin rot is prevalent in bettas because it stresses them out. And when betta gets stressed, their immune system gets weaker which stood not so strong against fighting with other bacteria; as a result, the betta dies.

2.        pH level

A high pH level in the aquarium or anywhere harms a betta. They should reside in that water whose pH level is equal to or close to 7. These leaves precisely do this. They naturally decrease the pH level in the water if it is high. And increases the pH level if it is way below 7.

3.        Tannic acid

Tannic acid, over time, is produced when acid leaves start to break down into small pieces. When this acid is released, it darkens the color of water, more like dark brown. And also softer the water.

Somehow this acid also maintains both the flow of water and its temperature. All these are so beneficial for a betta.

4.        Food source for shrimp

Anyone who got a shrimp in an aquarium will love to hear that Indian almond leaves are some of the best and most crucial food sources for their shrimp.

Shrimp loves to eat this leaf. Many bettas do. The idea is simple, it helps them to cure fin rot ( if any ) and let them stay away from it.

5.        Stress reduction

When the betta's immune system gets stronger, it will have better chances to fight against bacteria. And also, the watercolor changes to dark and softer. When happening to a fish, it will be free from stress.
